Saturday, 20 June 2009
WanYi, Ron, David, YuQian, WaiYin, LiPing and I went down to collect A4 Tech's sponsor prizes, buy the MC identity, a monster cap and collected the lorry. Hahaha. It's really cute, just that I do not look good in caps..

Sunday, 21 June 2009, Day 0
YQ picked Ron, Xinling, WaiYin and I up on the way to school. At school, we started packing the goodie bags for the freshies, OGLs and VIPs. The OGLs built the Dark Lord's Fort for Day 4's Fort Games. Went to Clementi Central to buy lunch and more bamboo poles. Later in the evening we went to Sheng Siong to buy breakfast for Day 1 & 2. Slept at 2plus in the morning.

Monday, 22 June 2009, Day 1
Woke up at 6am, washed up and freshies started arriving at 7.30am although the reporting time was 8am. Freshies continue to trickle in until 9.30, when the camp officially starts. Went to collect PGP transponders for the freshies. Realised there were already 8 cases of H1N1 in PGP.

June, Saleena and I immediately changed the programs so that they are not held in PGP. Called YQ for approval of the plan. After that, went back to SDE to fill in the necessary forms. Went back to PGP to collect the transponders and stayed there while the OGLs transported all the freshies' bags to a holding room.

Went back to SDE at 3plus, did paper work all the way to 8.30pm and finally was ready to distribute the transponders while the freshies were having fate night at Techno Edge. After that I finally ate dinner.

When the freshies were sent back to PGP, some OGs could not find their bags. So I had to go down to PGP again to sort out the mess. That was when the trouble began.

2 freshies said they were not feeling well and one went on the say he suspsected that he has H1N1. He laughed after saying that, that asshole. As if it were a laughing matter. YQ was immediately called back down n he together with WanYi sent the 2 jokers to NUH.

Because of the the cases in PGP and the 2 jokers, there was a meeting late into the night and we went to sleep at 4plus, waking up at 6am.

Tuesday, 23 June 2009, Day 2
Coordinated the movement of the OGs to the Grand Stand. We then went to collect lunch at Clementi Hawker Centre. Went back to the Grand Stand and I had no more duties. Was so tired I just lied down at the Grand Stand and slept.

After that went to SRC field 3 for Field Games. I think it went well and the Logistics team had to go and collect dinner already. Garvin helped transport the food to the Grand Stand and after packing the food into OGs, I realised that the vendor gave me 100 less spoons.

So I decided to run to Cheers to buy spoons since Techno Edge was too far away. It was definitely not my day cos Cheers ran out of plastic spoons. So I went up to YIH canteen to ask if they'd sell me spoons. The fucking bastards there tell me they don't sell spoons and asked me to go to Techno Edge to get the spoons. 1st class bastards.

So I ran all the way back and took from the stall and rushed back to the Grand Stand again, all in 20minutes. I would NEVER EVER patronise the YIH canteen anymore, even if I have to starve.

During one of the field games, one guy pulled his hamstring. I don't know how he was playing. Anyway, we called him the hamstring guy or hero after that. YQ/ WanYi sent him to the hosiptal.

At night, we had to go buy breakfast for Day 3 & 4. Before that we went to pick hero from NUH. YQ passed me the hospital invoice and hero is called David. Dropped David off at the Grand Stand and we went to Sheng Siong to buy bread again.

Was about to load up the food supplies when YQ got a call to say that one of the jokers last night was tested H1N1 positive. Sped back to SDE and got the freshies back to PGP without rousing their suspicions.

YQ and Eugene went down to NUH to ask for advice and check out the current situation. They were told to continue with the camp because the fatality rate for H1N1 is lower than common flu. We held a meeting and we decided to suspend the camp first for the safety of the campers.

Wednesday, 24 June 2009, Day 3
The campers were quarantined in their PGP rooms for the whole day. Eugene n YQ were picking up calls one after another.

OSHE initially said to disperse the camp asap. After which they decided that we should keep the campers in until the end of the camp which was Thurdays 9pm.

In the evening, they decided once again that we can let the campers go back home. A few OGs were allowed to go home while the rest stayed cos it was too late for them to go home.

Thursday, 25 June 2009, Day 4
The rest of the camp were allowed to go home. YQ gave the programs team permission to leave after clearing up and as few of the MC stayed back to tie up loose ends and do up the final admin stuff.

I decided to stay the night in school and go home tomorrow.

At close to midnight, Ron smsed and said he was tested H1N1 positive. So the lot of us, including David the hamstring guy, Felicia and Wenlin went down to NUH to do the nasal swab. Stayed at NUH for a few hours before we were allowed to go back to SDE.

Camped in the LRs for the night according to the level of risk. YQ, WanYi, David, Garvin nad I were high risk cos we had contact w the H1N1 guy. David the hamstring guy, Felicia, Shean, Hock, Aly, Anh, Jo, Wen Lin were low and medium risk.

Friday, 26 June 2009, Day 5
YQ woke us all up at 9.30am to say we cannot sleep in the LRs cos the the air con there was circulated air. Lol. it was too late to tell us that since we have already spent the past few nights in the LRs.

They wanted us to go home to wait for the results. Shean and Wen Lin went home to wait while the rest decided to stay at PGP while waiting for the results.

We were given rooms with aircon and attached bathrooms. $25/night. The shower even had heater. (: I spent the whole time sleeping, waking up only to eat meals and bath. Results were supposed to come out by midnight but because of a surge in number of people going for the test, our results were delayed.

Went back to sleep at night again.

Saturday, 27 June 2009, Day 6
Ate breakfast and went back to sleep again. Was awaken by a commotion outside. Some poeple have received their results and they were negative. So we all waited for the rest of the results together until there were 3 people left who were not called. Felicia, WanYi and I.

Thank god in the end all of us were cleared. We checked out of PGP and piled up the lorry to go for a ride to Bukit Timah for Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice. A real cause for celebration. (:

Reached home at 7-ish.

Finally home after 1 whole week of drama. Glad to be home again but missing everyone I have been through thick and thin with. (: Forged stronger friendships and got to know 2 cute freshies. HAHA.

I've finally bought Alan Kuo's One Day album. So far, my favourite song will be 千杯不醉. It's the last song on the disc but it is the best song yet. It is rock while the rest of the album is more mellow and R&B-ish. Nothing wrong with that but I still prefer his rock songs. Overall a good album. (:

Someone commented to me that the camp committee looks divided. And it sure is. There are no communication between the various committee, especially the 2 committee that requires the most communication. There is no sense of commitment in the team.

Everyone is just doing their own things. Some sacrifices were made quietly and no one appreciates those sacrifices because no one knows about them. Is that worth it?

It is 13 days to the actual camp, 4 days to the trial camp and the bulk of the camp is not ready. Fund raising activities do not see an acceptable attendance. We complain of being short of cash and yet we do not work for it. Who sees the effort we put in to earn those money? Who sees the money spent? 2 completely different sets of people. Why do we who turn up for the fund raising work so hard to see others spend it?

I wish I possess a good judgment of character. There are people who on the surface looks capable of great things. Yet, months down the road, you realise far too late that the cover of the book really can be utterly misleading.

Will the camp be a success? I think in terms of the attendance, it will be a success. In terms of the flow and quality of the camp, I have my doubts.

I need a break from all this shit. I need an avenue to vent the frustration and anger.

JC1 Progress Report

GP [C]: A responsible student who is diligent and motivated to learn. She is focused during group discussions but would do well to speak up more during class discussions. She has shown the ability to craft logical arguments in her written assignments and participating more actively in class would help her to sharpen her analytical skills. She needs to read widely to build up on content knowledge.

H2Mathematics [S]: She is quite strong in Mathematics. To improve further, she should stretch herself to solve more difficult problems and be sensitive to the conditions given by the questions, without the help of others.

H2Economics [U]: Need to take more initiative in clearing her doubts in class and put more effort in the subject.

H2Geography [E]: An intelligent student who needs to make more effort to participate in class. *made me sound like some insolent kid who refuses to participate in class*

H1Chemistry [D]: She has a positive attitude in class. She does her tutorial questions painstakingly. *’cos Chemistry homework was the easiest to do* With continual effort, she is capable of even better results.

Chinese [B]: She is too quiet and passive in class. She needs to open up herself and seek clarification, if necessary. She certainly has the potential to score better. *trust my Chinese teacher to be too frank*

JC2 Progress Report (June Common Test)

GP [E]: She is a conscientious student who takes great pride in her work. She submits her assignments promptly without needing to be reminded and works well with her classmates. She needs to be more proactive in participating during class discussions and to be more forthcoming in articulating personal opinions. *it is not that I do not want to voice my personal opinions. I just have no opinions on most topics…* She has the potential to do well if she reads more widely and consistently.

Mathematics [U]: She has improved a lot in her Math this year. However, she seems to have gotten her concepts mixed up during the mid-year exams. She needs to do regular timed practices of exam standard questions so as to sharpen her thinking skills.

Economics [U]: She has the potential to do well at the end of the year. She needs to attempt more case studies and essay questions to help her brush up on question analysis as well as application skills. She also has to learn to write academically as this will help to improve her performance in the subject. *written by a teacher who took us for less than a month, and I am sure she was being nice since I only scored 25/100*

Geography [B]: She is a hardworking student, who is consistent in her preparation for class. She needs to think more critically about geographical issues, and express this in her answers in order to improve her grade. *the B grade was because the paper was all physical geography, something I love a lot and can excel in compared to human geography*

Chemistry [E]: She has a good grasp of the concepts taught. However, she needs to put in consistent hard work during this revision period in order to do well in the final exams.

In the end, my prelim results were:

H1 Chemistry: C

GP: D

H2 Economics: U (got improvement! 36/100! Lol.)

H2 Geography: S (oops. Human geography came in the messed up my marks)

H2 Mathematics: U (worse than Economics: 34/100)

I went into the A Level examination hall with such depressing results. And came out with:

H1 Chemistry: B

GP: C

H2 Economics: C

H2 Geography: C

H2 Mathematics: A

Miracles do happen. (: I am surprised I did not get a Great and Miraculous Improvement in Results award. Hahaha.
