13 July 2008

I try to make it a point to write down about events that happened each day on the day itself (if that even made sense) cos to me, events become surreal the next day and i wouldn't be able to remember what happened.

Gary Chaw's concert just ended about 3 hours ago at about 10.45pm but already, it has become a past in my mind. It's almost unbelieveable. I can't believe I have gone for his concert. It was a little disappointing. Not really because of his performance though he was really nervous and it showed in his voice. I was actually hoping the concert will be more high, more charged with energy. But apparently Gary's bosses (so he call his fans) are more reserved. In fact, the only time when the atmosphere was charged with high energy was after he finished his cover of "My Way". He was visibly more high after that round of thunderous applause. It kind of went downhill after that... :S

Aska Yang (Yang Zhong Wei) was in the audience. It was really too bad he was not one of Gary's special guests. I would love to hear him sing. I just love powerful voices. :) Oh, I think the best sung song (filled with ample emotions and raw feelings) in the whole concert was 'gua mu xiang kan'. It was, according to him, a song written in anger and hatred but sung with love and peace. I've got to give it to him to be strong enough to stand up everytime he falls, pick himself up and carry on with life. It takes real courage and perseverence. And he's got a great sense of humour. Maybe that helped too. :)

I just love him. :)

Bought some merchandise of his after the concert. I was ready to spend about $50 on his merchandise but I only spent $28. I thought they were reasonably priced though the keychain faces didn't look like him...

24 July 2008

Went back to AJ to get my SGC (School Graduation Certificate?) with Alvina, Yu Jia, Lay Kuan and Sylvia (who has FINALLY return to Singapore. haha.). My SGC looks soooooo good. Ms Chan just has a way with the English Language, making a simple thing seem so significant, so important. Like, woo-hoo! What a way with words!

Anyway, since we were back in AJ, we went to ka-jiao all the teachers. Ms Chan, Ms Zhu, Mrs Cheong, Mrs Wong, Mr Mok, Lionel. And Ms Chan was telling us why we were given such a long holiday after A Levels. Cos we are never going to have long holidays anymore, what with the miserable 14/15 public holidays per year... Unless you are a teacher but as a teacher, there'll be a lot of work to be done in the school holidays too.

Walking to AJ this morning, it's like walking down the memory lane. The path I took to school every school day. The J1 days when I reach school at 6.45am everyday. The J2 days when I started getting sick of the travelling and often reaching school minutes before the school bell rings. The Curse of the Ninth Week. The dragging of feet whenever there's PE that day. PE seriously sucks...

Sigh. 2 years of JC, of good times have come and went. Now, university. I'm glad I made a group of great friends during camp. Who cares if we are in RE or PFM; we will still be in the same industry. An industry with great job prospects. :D I want to think I have made a right choice by choosing PFM over FASS. I still hope to work in the maritime industry in the future.

just finished watching Yu Le Bai Fen Bai (100% entertainment). Xiao Jing Teng's pool (as in that ball game) skills are so freaking impressive! he was so confident in the game and it's almost bai fa bai zhong (whatever you call it in English...) or ya! accurate! (sorry, English going down the hill. so glad I don't have to take QET) anyway, his shoots are so accurate it's breathtaking! Makes me wonder what he did in his youth. Just busy honing his extra-curriculum activities skills?

He's only 21 and he's in the showbiz already. But he has the talent to go far in this industry la. :)

this entry is damn random.

Here are 3 photos of the SDE FOC. Hopefully the rest of the group will post up the photos soon! :D

This is the Takeshi. It's like a rite into SDE. Canvas sheet on a quite steep slope, with soap water pouring down periodically to ensure the impossibility of climbing up by oneself. It's all about teamwork la.

A very dark photo of me and MeiYing

Some of the girls in my OG - Maroon 5. Let's join Rag together! Although I can't dance to save my life. :S

Now: 12.48am 4 July 2008

Just came back from School of Design & Environment (SDE) Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC). Ok, in short, SDE FOC la. It was a 4D3N camp but it's more of a 4D4N camp la. Cos we ended at 10.30pm. Take photos until 11plus, reach home at 12 plus the next day.

Anyway, I had great fun at the camp on the whole. For one thing, my OG is a pretty nice bunch of people. Maybe partly because I have tried to talk much much much more than I usually do to strangers. But I get the feeling that I still talk too little. :S

I realised I really do need some personal space, personal time each day to do what I want to do, what I wish to do. During the camp, every single minute is spent in the presence of at least one other person. It got on my nerves by Day 2. Er ya, then I became very mean, short tempered, unresponsive and un-enthusiastic. Really appreciate my OG mates for tolerating it for the last few days. :)

Play a game during the camp that required the guys to pass the girls from one side of the spider web to the other side. Felt so bad being so heavy. I know the guys had trouble getting me across. It doesn't matter if it's my bones is heavier or I'm just plain fat. The fact remains that I weigh a certain amount of weight. Maybe I should just blame it on gravity. Heh.

Turned out I didn't have to be too worried about the 'strong NUS tradition' of getting guys and girls to play stupid games together. The games were ok and in fact quite fun. :) But SDE seems to have lots more girls than guys so most of the games I pair up with girls. But I realised I am one of the youngest around, what with me being a JC student and being born in the 3rd quarter of the year.

Oh ya! The Fate Night aka speed dating aka blind (literally) dating. We were blind folded and led to different tables and forced to interact with people we have never known before. Oh, and we were given nicknames. Mine was Ashlee Simpson (at least it's not the sister. I don't want to be associated with a fucking bimbo). I think we moved around quite a lot and it went on for 2 hours. Ya, it was taxing on the brain man. Don't know what new things to say after you have repeated yourself everytime you meet new people. BUT! I have no cause to complain. Cos the guy in my group really quite shuai and he's in PFM too. HAHA! They say he's a combination of Wu Zun and Jay Chou. But I think he looks more like Wu Zun. Too bad never take photo with him. Hee.

Met a lot of people I knew in secondary school and JC at the camp as well. I saw a lot of AJCians but I've never seen them before. And I met the Yvonne from Campus Superstar Season 1. She's in Real Estate.

Many many thanks to my OGLs: JUNE (Best OGL), JIE YI, HUI ZHEN, YI XUN, NORTH/ ALFIAN, VANCE and HENRY for making the camp so much more fun. And to Jie Yi who trys to talk to me and explaining to me many of the confusing + complicated aspects of school. :)

And my my OG's yan daos and chio bus: JU MING, MEI YING, JIE YING, WEI SHI, JOCELYN, CARMEN, JANICE, XIN LING, ANSLEY, SHEUN, WAN YI, JODIE, SHIN, VICTOR (Best Freshie (Male)), RONALD, BENJAMIN, YU QIAN, KOK HONG for making the camp enjoyable. Plus all the gossiping sessions about the traffic lights and the whys and hows of the transition from one light to another. It was fun listening. If one day you guys are interested in my story, I'm more than willing to share it. Haha!

I guess I'd better go off to lalaland. I was just afraid that in the morning I wake up everything would have felt like a dream. Events become surreal after a night's sleep for me. I have done more in the past four days than I had in the past ½ year after A Levels. There is a sense of achievement in that. :)

Let's meet up before school opens in August. :D I so look forward to it! Hopefully this friendship forged will last forever and ever. HOT STUD FRIENDSHIP : PRICELESS

Love you guys in Maroon 5! <3
