I believe I have never blogged about learning the Thai Language before. As I learn more of the language, I realised how I have been writing a particular phrase wrongly for the 2-3 years. The correct version is the first row of words in the picture above. It actually means "study hard".

And just look at how similar some of the Thai consonants are. Short of memorising them, I have no idea how to go about remembering them. :/

But it is nonetheless the module I have most fun in, although my pronunciation is horrible and I still can't sight read.

Last night I felt very empty all of a sudden. The absence of my Thai kids over at Mae Hong Son. I suppose I can't see them as 'my kids' already. After all, the youngest of my 'students' is already 14 years old! And the oldest has got to be 18 already! Time passed too quickly. I was 17, they were 11-15. I so miss them.

Last night, too, I realised the inadequacies of the typical search engine in the area of academic research. I am just starting to get to know how to use the NUS online Library to find academic papers for my projects. There really is a wealth of knowledge in there. And yes, I have to credit Elf Seah for the knowledge. Thanks a million! (:
