13 July 2008
I try to make it a point to write down about events that happened each day on the day itself (if that even made sense) cos to me, events become surreal the next day and i wouldn't be able to remember what happened. Gary Chaw's concert just ended about 3 hours ago at about 10.45pm but already, it has become a past in my mind. It's almost unbelieveable. I can't believe I have gone for his concert. It was a little disappointing. Not really because of his performance though he was really nervous and it showed in his voice. I was actually hoping the concert will be more high, more charged with energy. But apparently Gary's bosses (so he call his fans) are more reserved. In fact, the only time when the atmosphere was charged with high energy was after he finished his cover of "My Way". He was visibly more high after that round of thunderous applause. It kind of went downhill after that... :S Aska Yang (Yang Zhong Wei) was in the audience. It was really too bad he was not one of Gary's special guests. I would love to hear him sing. I just love powerful voices. :) Oh, I think the best sung song (filled with ample emotions and raw feelings) in the whole concert was 'gua mu xiang kan'. It was, according to him, a song written in anger and hatred but sung with love and peace. I've got to give it to him to be strong enough to stand up everytime he falls, pick himself up and carry on with life. It takes real courage and perseverence. And he's got a great sense of humour. Maybe that helped too. :) I just love him. :) Bought some merchandise of his after the concert. I was ready to spend about $50 on his merchandise but I only spent $28. I thought they were reasonably priced though the keychain faces didn't look like him... -aeRieL- 24 July 2008 Went back to AJ to get my SGC (School Graduation Certificate?) with Alvina, Yu Jia, Lay Kuan and Sylvia (who has FINALLY return to Singapore. haha.). My SGC looks soooooo good. Ms Chan just has a way with the English Language, making a simple thing seem so significant, so important. Like, woo-hoo! What a way with words! Anyway, since we were back in AJ, we went to ka-jiao all the teachers. Ms Chan, Ms Zhu, Mrs Cheong, Mrs Wong, Mr Mok, Lionel. And Ms Chan was telling us why we were given such a long holiday after A Levels. Cos we are never going to have long holidays anymore, what with the miserable 14/15 public holidays per year... Unless you are a teacher but as a teacher, there'll be a lot of work to be done in the school holidays too. Walking to AJ this morning, it's like walking down the memory lane. The path I took to school every school day. The J1 days when I reach school at 6.45am everyday. The J2 days when I started getting sick of the travelling and often reaching school minutes before the school bell rings. The Curse of the Ninth Week. The dragging of feet whenever there's PE that day. PE seriously sucks... Sigh. 2 years of JC, of good times have come and went. Now, university. I'm glad I made a group of great friends during camp. Who cares if we are in RE or PFM; we will still be in the same industry. An industry with great job prospects. :D I want to think I have made a right choice by choosing PFM over FASS. I still hope to work in the maritime industry in the future. -aeRieL-
