you know how it was that just last year, my 'slogan' was SSMS 2008? it's 2008 now and halfway through it and yet, where is the trip? uni will be starting in a little more than 2 months' time. i heard some of the ocip people are planning for one when the guys ROD (is that the correct terminology?), which is 2010. correct me if i'm wrong. that'll be year 3 of uni and what if i'm schedule for internship or whatever they have in uni? i don't want to miss out on the opportunity to find my kids before they really graduate and merge into the large workforce. by then, i can really give up on ever finding them. especially my P5 kids cos they have not once sent me an email and i so miss them... sigh, i'm thinking too much and too far ahead, ain't i? today's a slow day at work so i have a lot of time to think and think and wallow in self-pity. the old aeRieL has returned since the last post. :( -aeRieL-

aeRieL is a happy girl at 5.26pm cos her good friend sms-ed her. aeRieL is a sad girl at 10.05pm cos she has received her rejection letter from NTU. hence she has taken up the place in NUS Project and Facilities Management. -aeRieL- May 25, 2008 aeRiel is a happy girl at 6.17pm cos Gary Chaw has arrived at IMM Garden Plaza. and later too, cos she got her concert ticket signed. but a little disappointed by the handshake. cos his hand was not the kind that she likes a lot - the kind that is firm and a little rough. his was a smooth and thin hand, an artist hand. hardly surprising but still a little disappointing. but he smiled at her. aeRieL can't wait for his concert in SG. 12 July 2008, 8pm, SG indoor Stadium. i never knew guys can get so high at the sight of Gary. 2 guys from i-shall-not-say-where, one in PINK, were even more excited than the female fans when Gary came into the crowd. ![]() ![]() A co-worker got a pen stuck inside our printer. She started to try remove the pen, but I told her we don't have time for that now, so she should just put a note on the printer, telling folks not to use it, and then report it to the Help Desk. So she grabbed a piece of paper and scrawled on it. I left before she finished the note. About 20 minutes later, one of my techs comes in laughing and says he was just in the lobby, saw that piece of paper on a printer and went to investigate. Attached is what he found. Sometimes things don't always come out the way you want them to, right ? it was an email forwarded to my friend.

i just realised how TV can really make you look fatter... right now (2.34pm) Adrian Pang is filming right outside my shop and he is really lean. on TV, however, he looks like he's the 'normal weight' kind. damn. so in order to go on TV, you've got to be slightly underweight to look healthy on screen. so most actresses are severely underweight, since thy look damn thin, even on screen... i've decided to go for Gary's concert. now there remains the question of which ticket to buy. it's either the 2nd cheapest or the 2nd most expensive. i'll weigh the pros and cons before deciding. -aeRieL- 14 MAy 2008 just read today's newspaper (finally!) and i see: like last year, the most sought-after courses this year include accountancy, business and arts and social sciences and hor, only 25% of the graduating cohort gets a place in an university. i didn't know that... maybe i should be grateful that i even have a place in NUS... where is the damn letter from NTU?! -aeRieL- 17 May 2008 insecure and vulnerable. that is what i do not want to become. EVER. those are weaknesses easily exploited. that strikes you blind before you can even blink. i do not want to that weak person. NEVER. that is what people become when they are too dependent on someone else. i will learn this lesson. and learn it well. -aeRieL-

i learned a lesson today. if you see a person standing outside your shop, looking in but can't really decide whether to step in, all you need to do to get the person into the shop is to smile warmly at them and they'll automatically step into the shop. i wonder why. i mean, if the sales person in the shop smiles at me, i sometimes also won't step in one leh. who takes psychology? tell me the reason! haha. -aeRieL- 9 May 2008 my current phne is acting kinda weird these days: it is shutting off by itself everytime i forget to put it down gently. so i changed to my bro's old phone (he got a new phone N6500) so that i can take my beloved red phone to repair. just now when i was in the toilet, i put my phone on top of the toilet paper dispenser (which is a curved surface) and this fucking woman from the next cubicle slam her door, rattling the dividing slab of wood which the dispenser was attached to. the freaking phone dropped to the floor, dislodging the fucking SIM card and it took a fucking 10 minutes of dismantling and assembling before it was restored. bloody fucking woman. actually, she was a lian. bloody fucking lian. fucking slam the cubicle door for what? you don't ahve to keep up your fucking lian image in the toilet, your looks speak for you, loud and clear. bitch, you say. i don't care about your opinions. -aeRieL-

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PA! :) may you age gracefully. :P just heard the song "Yue Liang Re De Huo" (the disaster caused by the moon) by Zhang Yu. and suddenly, i am reminded of the many study sessions on sundays before the A Level examinations. we studied, we talked, we helped each other.... i wonder if i will be able to find such study mates in uni. and i remembered how much i looked forward to every Sunday, no matter the venue. sometimes, i travel as far as Bukit Batok but who cares. i enjoy the company, i get to study with my friends. sometimes, i wish i am as close to them as i was then. sure, i still talk to Hui Qi, we still meet up now and then. can't say the same for the other study mate. i don't think we've talked since 7 March, the day the results were released. will we even talk again? i've decided. out of sight, out of mind is more true. whatever. -aeRieL-

for these past 4-5 months, after the A Levels, i decided that it's time to switch to reading fiction books of other genres. to not be confined to the usual genres that i read, namely, fantasy and criminal. so i moved on to thrillers and an occasion sci-fi when it is incorporated into the trillers. and so far, i've read works of Jeffrey Archer, Lee Child, Jeffery Deaver and Michael Crichton. with the exception of Deaver, i've enjoyed the rest. the first thriller book i read was State of Fear by Crichton. it was super duper uber good. the theory of the book makes sense, and all the figures are substantiated it was so cool. it's almost like a cross between fiction and non-fiction. then there was Next, also by Crichton. that was about medical ethics and genetical modification. BTW, he wrote The Jurassic Park. Child's books have the same character called Jack Reacher and he was a military police. the way i imagine him, he is a tall guy, muscular and all male. hee hee. Archer's books are my favourite. i've only read 3 of his books, 2 short stories compilation and 1 novel, but i'm COMPLETELY hooked! every of his short stories have an unexpected twist at the end and his novel, Sons of Fortune is just fatabulous! now i'm reading another of his novels, False Impression. it just brings me right into the story. when the heroine is being pursued, my heart beats faster too! he's such a gifted storyteller. i'm going to collect all his books! MUAHAHAHA! the synopsis of False Impression: An old lady is brutually murdered the night before 9/11 A New York banker receives a woman's left ear in the morning post A top notch lawyer works only for one client... but never charge a fee A professional young woman steals a Van Gogh... but she isn't a thief An Olympic gymnast is paid a million dollars... but has no bank account An honours graduate inherits a fortune... but works as a temp A Japanese steel magnate gives $50 million to a woman he's only met once ... and a senior FBI agent is trying to work out the connection between these seven apparently innocent individuals. -aeRieL-

![]() ![]() met up with the girls (Gelina, Li Ying, Joan) today. Xiuqi couldn't join us. anyway, highlight of the day has got to be going to Lucky Plaza to find perfume. Joan for herself and Gelina for her mother. in the course of deciding which perfume to buy, we stumbled across Davidoff Cool Water Wave perfume (above). it's the one that really stood out, in terms of packaging and scent. damn nice leh. if you can, go get that. that'll be the next perfume after i finish... let's see, i still have 3 bottles left. damn. it'll take a long time... :( so nice to meet up again though if XQ came, it'll be better. i've been accepted by NUS project and facilites managment. but i'm still waititng for NTU's letter. i really hope that i can get in maritime studies. but my bro predicts that i'll not get in. it is at times like this that i hate my bro. he's brutally frank, don't you think? -aeRieL-
